Older, active adults are invited to enjoy meaningful personal and group activities offered at the City of Glendale senior centers. Services and programs include an integrated array of advocacy, health, nutrition, social services, sports and leisure activities. Eligibility may vary with some services but most programs are open to everyone without regard to age, race, color, nationality, origin, sex, religion, and mental or physical handicap.
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life, promote independence, self-sufficiency and self-fulfillment among the older citizens of Glendale. Programs, services, and activities are held at the following facilities:
LIFE-LONG LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIORS
The Community Services & Parks provides a variety of opportunities for seniors to participate in life-long learning classes for personal growth and development. Participation is open to individuals ages 50 and older. Special recreation events and informational programs are scheduled throughout the year. In addition, a number of classes are offered in collaboration with the Glendale Community College. All Glendale Community College seminars are FREE to seniors. CARE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
Integrated Care management is for Glendale residents 60 years of age and older and disabled adults. It is designed to meet the special needs of frail individuals who may be experiencing difficulty in maintaining an independent living arrangement. The Care Management Program can provide assistance with the following services:

HEALTH SERVICES
FREE health screenings are available for older persons at the Adult Recreation Center and Sparr Heights Community Center. For information, call (818) 548-3775 OR (818) 548-2187.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Legal Assistance is offered free, by appointment, funded through a grant to Bet Tzedek. Priority service is given to seniors in greatest economic need. Donations for services are accepted. For appointments, call (818) 548-3775.
MEDICARE & MEDI-CAL COUNSELING
HICAP Medicare Counseling is available to assist seniors with questions regarding Medicare, supplemental insurance, HMOs and more. For more information, call (818) 548-3775.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES & BUS PASS SALES
Transportation services include Dial-a-Ride, by reservation, and MTA discount bus passes, sold at Pacific Community Center, Sparr Heights and the Adult Recreation Center from the 25th of each month though the 10th of the following month. Proof of Glendale residency and age is required. Beeline Bus Passes are also available at both senior center locations. The MTA bus pass for seniors is honored by the Beeline. ELDERLY NUTRITION PROGRAM
The Nutritional Meals Program is funded through the Los Angeles County Area Agency on Aging and in part by the Older American Act of 1965. Adults 60 years of age or older, and their spouses regardless of age are eligible for meals. All of our sites provide a hot meal, a chance to make new friends, holiday and special events, movies and lectures, and a chance to participate in other activities in a restaurant style atmosphere. A donation of $2.50 per meal is suggested. Non-Seniors are required to pay $4.75.

HOME DELIVERED MEALS PROGRAM
Home Delivered Meals are available on a limited basis for at-risk homebound, older persons ago 60+. Each person is assessed to determine if a home delivered meal is the appropriate option. Deliveries consist of seven balanced and nutritious frozen meals once a week to each eligible Glendale resident.

SPECIAL NEEDS ACCOMMODATIONS
The Community Services & Parks Department will provide any reasonable accommodation toward the inclusion of a participant.
